Description

The F/A-18 Hornet was Australia's front line fighter jet for 40 years and retired in 2021.

This particular F/A-18A Hornet, A21-32 was in service at ARDU (Aircraft Research and Development Unit) for many years and was known to be at Woomera conducting multiple test programs. This aircraft was built as a Block 21, A model Hornet and was one of only 2 Hornets fitted with flight test instrumentation.

This aircraft is now on display at The South Australian Aviation Museum as the ARDU jet.
