Description

In 1934, the British Army sought a cheap general-purpose tank due to the global recession. Vickers had been developing a cheaper version of the medium tank Mk.III and it was adopted as a cruise tank, the Mk.I (A9), in 1937. Since the armor pressure of the A9 was 14mm, a type strengthened to 30mm was also ordered; this was adopted and mass-produced as the cruise tank Mk.II (A10). Originally equipped with a water-cooled Vickers machine gun, it was changed to an air-cooled Besa machine gun during production, and was known as the Mk.IIa. In the 1940 French war, it fought with the German Army as the Continental Expeditionary Force, and was used as a main battle tank in North Africa until around 1941.

This model kit is an early A10 cruise tank, with a Vickers water-cooled machine gun mounted on the turret and no body machine gun. The front shape of the turret is also very different. The number of parts has been reduced by integrally slide-molding many of the parts; the hatch can be opened or closed. A 16-page booklet about the actual vehicle is included, with text in English and German.

Model comes unassembled and unpainted.
